think about it logically. If there are 3 boys for every 4 girls, and there are 12 boys, then that means there are 16 girls.

You can express it as fractions. 3:4 is equal to 3/4.

If you use proportions, 3/4=12/x (x= number of girls) solving that equation yields x=16, so there are 16 girls
