Use method B. Divide the 1200 by 5.
Suppose you have 7 apples for 7 children. Then that's one apple per child. Or,
7 apples/7 kids = 1 apple/kid
Similarly, if you have 28 pancakes for 7 mothers, then that's 4 pancakes per mom. Or,
28 pancakes/7 moms = 4 pancakes/mom
Each time, all you do is divide the top and the bottom by the same number, and the number that you divide by is the number that is on the bottom. This makes sure there is only one "thing" on the bottom.
