The midpoint is the average of the x and y coords. Average of x is (4-2)/2=1 and y is (-9-15)/2=-12, so the midpoint is (1,-12).

The length of the segment is sqrt((4-(-2))^2+(-9-(-15))^2)=sqrt(36+36)=sqrt(72)=6sqrt(2) or about 8.4853.
