Your 2 equations are,
y = x + 2 ------- (1)
y - x = 8 ------- (2)
which is the same as
y = x + 2 ------- (1)
y = x + 8 ------- (2)
You should note that both eqn (1) and eqn (2) have the same slope, (the coefficient of x, which here is 1) but have different y-intercepts.
That means the two lines are parallel with each other, but nutually distinct.
Since they are parallel, then they will never intersect.
Therefore there is no solution.
