M= Amount of the Money

4/9M + 1/6M + 1/3M + $15 = M

4/9M + 1/6M + 1/3M  = M - 15

LCD = 18

8/18M + 3/18M + 6/18M = M - 15

17/18M = M - 15

15 = M - 17/18M\

15 = 18/18M - 17/18M

15 = 1/18M

M = 15 x 18

M = $ 270 ◄ Ans

a man invests $5000 in a savings bank. He places part of it in a checking account that earns 4.5% and the rest ina a regular savings accont that earns 6%. His total annual incone from this investment in simple interest is $270. How much was invested in each account? make this an equation and solve
by
Let the amount put in the 4.5% account be x.
Thus, the amount put in the 6% account is (5000 - x).

Since the annual interest earned is $270, we have:

(0.045)x + (0.06)(5000 - x) = 270
0.045x + 300 - 0.06x = 270
0.045x - 0.06x = 270 - 300
-0.015x = -30
x = - 30 / -0.015
x = 2000

5000 - x = 5000 - 2000 = 3000

Hence, $2000 is put in the 4.5% account and $3000 is put in the 6% account.
Let the amount put in the 4.5% account be x.
Thus, the amount put in the 6% account is (5000 - x).

Since the annual interest earned is $270, we have:

(0.045)x + (0.06)(5000 - x) = 270
0.045x + 300 - 0.06x = 270
0.045x - 0.06x = 270 - 300
-0.015x = -30
x = - 30 / -0.015
x = 2000

5000 - x = 5000 - 2000 = 3000

Hence, $2000 is put in the 4.5% account and $3000 is put in the 6% account.
