How do you multiply mixed numbers?
The best way, if your allowed,is to change the mixed fraction to a regular fraction.
Heres how:
1 2/3 I need to change this into a regular fraction.
1. I will take the denominator (3) and MULTIPLY it by 1
2. This equals 3. Now ADD the numerator (2). 3+2 =5
3. This number is your NEW numerator for the regualr fraction.
4. The denominator (3) is the same.
This should be 5/3.
Now multiply. 5/3 * 2/9 straight across. Numerator to numerator. Denominator to denominator.
5*2 = 10
3*9 = 27
So your NEW fraction is 10/27!
