I am assuming the (x^4+2) is being multiplied by the deminator and not the equation.
first a property of log is Log(x/y) = log x - log y so we will split it up like this.
log(10^x)- log (x(x^2+1)(x^4+2) (note that log when no base is given is always base 10, and log base 10 of 10^x is just x)
x-log(x(x^2+1)(x^4+2)) now multiply out the x you arrive at
x-log((x^3+x)(x^4+2) not foil this out by multiplying both out you arrive at
x-log(x^7+2x^3+x^5+2x)
