Question: A round water tank has a diameter of 2m and a volume of 3 140 000 cm,what is the height?

The volume of a cylinder is given by

V = pi.R^2.h

We have R = 1 m = 100 cm

V = 3, 140, 000 cm^3

Using the formula,

3,140,000 = pi.(100)^2.h = pi.h*10,000

Dividing both sides by 10,000 and rearranging,

pi.h = 314

h = 314/pi

Using pi = 3.14 approx (pi = 3.14159...)

h = 100 cm = 1 m

Answer: h = 1 m
