2 + 7 ≠ 10    Two plus seven is not equal to ten.

As for how to solve the equation, it depends on what the equation is, what it represents.

Let me add to that. If you have the following:

x + 10 ≠ 37

the answer would be    x < 27, x > 27

because 27 + 10 does equal 37, therefore any number EXCEPT 27 satisfies the problem
