solve x=(6y+4)/(4y+5) multiply both sides by denominator (4y + 5) * x = 6y + 4 4xy + 5x - 4 = 6y 5x - 4 = 6y - 4xy factor out y 5x - 4 = (6-4x) * y y = (5x - 4)/ (6 - 4x)
