In a set of seven numbers, the average of the first four is 15, and the average of the last three is 8. What is the average of all seven numbers? My husband says to add up 15 times four then 8 times three and divide by seven. I think he is wrong. This is for my son's homework. Can someone help please?

sum1=4*15=60 . . . sum2=3*8=24 . . . sum=60+24=84 . . . averaej=84/7=12
