x/6 = 24/16  Cross multiply

16x = 6 * 24

x = (6 * 24) / 16

x = (3 * 12) / 4          divide by 2*2/4

x = (3 * 3)                 divide by 4/4

x = 9 ft

Ignore this I set it up incorrectly.  x/ 6 = 16/24
24x = 6 * 16
x = 6 * 16 / 24
x = 1 * 16 / 4
x = 4
24^2=6^2+__? then square root = 23.23! :)
