im just not sure what steps to take. I am stuck on it. I know I find common denominaors and then add the fractions so the variable is on one side. I got to

5= 5/8x (exponent) 2

do I times the 5/8 and then divide the equation in half?

me assume that stuf shood be

(1/8)x = -(1/2)x +5

or x =-4x+40

or 5x=40

x=8
