Question: then length of a side of a square is (4x+4) km. find the area of the square in terms of the variable x.

The side of the square is s = (4x + 4)

The area of a square is A = s^2

So, the area of this square is A = (4x + 4)^2 = 4^2(x+1)^1 = 16(x+1)^2

Answer: area of square is A = 16(x+1)^2 km^2
