I have a math word problem. You have to design a room the the length must be two meters longer than the width, the depth must be one meter shorter than the width and the room must be 8 meters cubed. I set up and equation and is as follows . (w+2m) x (w-1m) x w =8m cubed wich equals width cubed +1m= 8m cubed so then i converted 8 meters cubed in to meters 8 cubed = 512 then I came up with width cubed = 511 and i can figure out how to solve that. How do I solve that or is my logic off?

I think it's easier to try some numbers,

2 x 4 x1 =8

W=2m, L=4m, H = 1m, V=8m^3
