I don't remember how to solve this type of equation for my Geometry class.  I looked back into my Algebra 2 book, but found no help.

4x -y +1 =2x -1 +3y+5

4x-2x=3y+y+5-1-1

2x=4y+3

4y=2x-3

y=(2x-3)/4
