ex-3e-x=2, multiply through by ex:

e2x-3=2ex, arrange as a quadratic:

(ex)2-2ex-3=(ex-3)(ex+1)=0.

ex cannot be negative so the solution is ex=3, making x=ln(3)=1.0986 approx.
