FInd the midpoint of segment AB, with A (-1,-6) and B (-6, 5)
It is a geometry question that I have to study for....

We need half the distance between the x co-ordinates, and
half the distance between the y co-ordinates. Because the
lengths are positive (a line segment can't be shorter than 0),
we use the absolute value.

For x:  | (-6) - (-1) |  =  | (-6) + (1) |  =  | (-5) |  = 5
Half that length is  5 / 2 = 2.5
Add that to the x co-ordinate of the left endpoint.
-6 + 2.5 = -3.5

For y:  | (5) - (-6) |  =  | (5) + (6) |  =  | (11) |  = 11
Half that length is  11 / 2 = 5.5
Add that to the y co-ordinate of the lower endpoint.
-6 + 5.5 = -0.5

The midpoint is (-3.5, -0.5)
