=how to change 10/28 to a decimals

you can use long division or a calculator but you need to find how many 28 goes into 10.

since 10 is less than 28, we will be adding a zero to the right of the 10.  Now the 10 will become 10.0

100 divided by 28 will be 3 times and a remainder of 16.  Since we added the zero to the 10 to make it 100, we must start our dividend to the right of the decimal point in the answer.   0.3  Continue adding zeros to the right of the remainders and dividing.

10/28 = 0.35714............
