This is an equation, not an inequality.

-8k+6=10k+7 after removing the parentheses and distributing.

Add 8k to each side:

6=18k+7.

Subtract 7 from each side:

-1=18k, which is the same as 18k=-1, then divide each side by 18:

k=-1/18.
