(y^2-12y+32)/(y^2+3y-28)
((y-8)(y-4))/((y-4)(y+7)
(y-8)/(y+7)

y²-12y+32 can be factored as (y-8)(y-4)

y²+3y-28 can be factored as (y+7)(y-4)

So factored out you have:

[(y-8)(y-4)]/[(y+7)(y-4)].  the (y-4) on the numerator and denominator cancel out.

In its simplest form you're left (y-8)/(+7)
