To divide fractions they need first to be converted to improper fractions.
3 1/2 is 7/2 (=(3*2 + 1)/2) and 50 1/4 is 201/4 (=(50*4+1)/4).
To divide by a fraction turn it upside down and multiply:
201/4*2/7=201/(2*7)=201/14=14 5/14 (14*14=196 with remainder 201-196=5) or 14.357 approx.
