Andy has  $200 to buy a new TV. ¼ of that money came from grandma and he saved the rest. How much money did Andy save?

If Grandma gave Andy a quarter of the money, then 3/4 must have come from Andy, so we can do this two ways. Subtract Grandma's contribution=200/4=$50, leaving Andy to find the rest 200-50=$150; or we can multiply 200 by 3/4:  3/4*200=3*50=$150.
