If we call the unknown number x, 8x=68. Divide both sides by 8: x=68/8=8 1/2 or 8.5 or 17/2.

let us take y as any number which is unknown then the implication is that, 8y=68. Divide both sides by 8: y=68/8=so

we can either leave it in a fraction form or in a rounded off form i.e 8.5 0r 8 1/2
