you need to rationalize the denominator first. do this by multiplying by the reciprical 15/14. what you do to the denominator do to the numerator 7/12X15/14. and you get 105/168 = .625

Find a common denominator then change the numerator to match them. Then multiply.

First, find the common denominator of 12 and 15. The easiest one would be 60. Now since you multiply 12x5 to get 60, multiply 7 (numerator) by 5 to get 35. Do the same to other fraction exceptt mulitplying numerator by 4 since 15x4=60. You should now have 35/60 divided by 56/60. Change the division sign to mulptiplication sign. Now find the reciprocal of 56/60 which is 60/56. Now just simply mulitply across and you should get 2100/3360. Now just simplify or put in lowest terms. Divide both numerator and denominator by 5. You should then get 420/672. Now divide both by 2. You should get 210/336. Now divide both by 3. You should get 70/112. Now again divide both by 2. Finally, divide both by 7 and the final answer should be  5/8. coolcoolcheekyyes

When you need to divide by a fraction, the first thing you do is invert the fraction and use it to multiply.

(7/12) / (14/15) = (7/12) * (15/14)

Multiply the two numerators, and multiply the two denominators

(7 * 15) / (12 * 14)

Simplify where possible: divide the 7 by 14, giving (1 * 15) / (12 * 2)      (7/14 is 1/2)

For the next step, visualize this: (15 is 3 * 5; 12 is 3 * 4) so we have (1 * 3 * 5) / (3 * 4 * 2)

Divide both the 15 and the 12 by 3: (1 * 5) / (4 * 2)       (we have divided the 3 in the numerator by the 3 in the denominator)

Perform the mulitplications: 5 / 8

If you have not been told to give the decimal equivalent, that is your answer. I'm sure, though, that the fraction is the answer that you are looking for.
