Add X to both sides: 8.3=4.7+X

Subtract 4.7 from both sides: 3.6=X, so X=3.6

please solve step by step: 8.3-X=4.7

change the signs of all the terms, to give

X - 8.3 = -4.7        now add 8.3 to both sides, giving

X - 8.3 + 8.3 = -4.7 + 8.3           adding together gives us,

X = 8.3 - 4.7 = 3.6

Answer: X = 3.6
