You multiply 98 x 81. First 98 x 1 = 98. So it is 98. Now do 98 x 8 which is 784. Now add 784 + 98 = 882.

Answer: 882

You were almost there Kayla. Let me just modify your answer.

You multiply 98 x 81. First 98 x 1 = 98. So it is 98. Now do 98 x 80 which is 7840. Now add 7840 + 98 = 7938.

Answer: 7938

It should have been multiplied by 80 rather than 8

You had 98*81

98*81 = 98*(1 + 80) = 98*1 + 98*80 = 98 + 7840 = 7938
