Problem: What is the slope of the line passing through the points -1,3 and 4,-7?
What is the slope of the line passing through the points -1 + 3 + 4 + -7 is it too is it three quarters is at -4/3 is it -2

The slope is m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1)

(-1, 3) and (4, -7)

m = (-7 - 3) / (4 - (-1))
m = -10 / (4 + 1)
m = -10 / 5
m = -2
