Is the area of a triangle the same as the area of  a paralellogram with the same base and height?

No, it takes two congruent triangles (parallelogram divided into 2 triangles by diagonal) to make a parallelogram, so the triangle has half the area.

No (A parallelogram on the same base as a triangle, and in the same parallels, has twice the area of the triangle.)
