8x - (4x + 5) = 15

8x - 9x = 15

8x -8x + 9x = 15 + 9x

9x/ 9x       24/9 = 3  x=3

Solution

 

8x - 4x - 5 = 15

4x = 15+5

4x = 20

x = 20/4

x = 5
