I know the answer is 1/11, but I don't know HOW they got that answer.  Please explain.

You have 12 items, 4 of which are watches. Probability of first selecting a watch is 4/12=1/3. That leaves 11 items, 3 of which are watches. The probability of picking one of them next is 3/11. Multiply these probabilities together to find out the combined probability:1/3 * 3/11=1/11.
