Distance=speed times time, so time=distance ÷ speed=(6x^2-13x-5)/(3x+1)=(3x+1)(2x-5)/(3x+1)=2x-5. So the function f(x)=2x-5.

Distance=speed* time

so,

time = Distance/speed

time = (6x^2 -13x -5)/(3x+1)

time = 2x-5 hours
