Take 9/4 x 4/15 first and evaluate it. The 4s cancel: 9/15, and 3 is a common factor: 3/5.

Now we can add to 5/3: 5/3 + 3/5. The common denominator (LCD) of 3 and 5 is 15 so we can express both fractions in 15ths: 25/15 + 9/15 (note that 9/15 was an intermediate fraction we calculated earlier). Since they both have the same denominator we just add the numerators: 9+25=34, so the answer is 34/15.
