How do you divide in fractions?

Please show your work to all these questions:

1/3 divided by 6/8

2. 1/2 divided 2/5

3. 3/6 divided by 3/4

To divide by a fraction, invert it and multiply:

1/3÷6/8=1/3 * 8/6=1/3 * 4/3=4/9.

1/2÷2/5=1/2*5/2=5/4.

3/6=1/2, so 3/6÷3/4=1/2*4/3=2/3.

It's only hard if you don't understand it and what it's for. When you do understand, it's great to work with. By the way, rational numbers include whole numbers and fractions; irrational numbers can't be written as fractions. Rational numbers can be represented in decimals which terminate or recur. Irrational numbers in decimal never terminate and never recur.
