We can work out how much half a pound of wood costs. There are 5 half-pounds in 2½lb, so if we divide 5 into $25.10 we get $5.02. That's the cost of ½lb of wood, and we get the cost of a pound of wood by doubling this cost: 2 * $5.02 = $10.04.
