Let there be D dimes and Q quarters

Then D * 10 + Q * 25 = 370

Also Q = D + 5    (there are 5 more quarters than dimes)

Then,

10D + 25(D + 5) = 370

10D + 25D + 125 = 370

35D = 245

5D = 35

D = 7,   Q = 12

Let D be the number of dimes, worth 10D cents, and Q the number of quarters, worth 25Q cents.

$3.70=370 cents.

10D+25Q=370. Also Q=D+5 so 10D+25(D+5)=370, 10D+25D+125=370; 35D=245, D=7 and Q=12.

CHECK: 70+300=$370.
