  1. If A, B and C are in a straight line, and B is between A and C, then AC=AB+BC=2+3=5.
  2. If A, B and C are in a straight line, and A is between B and C then AC=BC-AB=3-2=1.
  3. If ABC is a triangle we can’t work out AC without knowing angle B. AC must be between 1 (when B is very small) and 5 (when B is almost 180°).
  4. If B is a right angle then AC=√2²+3²=√13 (about 3.6).
