The volume of a pyramid is ⅓Ah where A is the base area. If w=width, then A=w×2w=2w².

So ⅓(2w²)6=256, 4w²=256, w²=64, w=8cm so length=16cm.

The dimensions of the rectangular base are length=16cm and width=8cm.
