In my homework, my teacher asks me to draw the place where that 0.9 would go. Is it possible to draw it or place it in the triangle?

Thanks, Tod!!

The tangent of 42º is BC/AB. I have marked AB with the length 10 and BC with length 9 just to create the angle 42º. These lengths are only a rough approximation. You could also mark AB with length 1 and BC with length 0.9. The angle would still be 42°. The important thing which your teacher probably needs you to do is to write tan42=BC/AB or tan42=opposite/adjacent.
