Scalar projection=<a,b>·<s,t>/|<a,b>| (dot product). It's assumed that a and b are the components of the vectors. The vertical bars denote magnitude.

Angular parentheses denote vector (two-dimensional in this case).

Scalar projection=(as+bt)/√(a2+b2).
