I asked this question yesterday but you didn't understand it. we can undo powers using fractional exponents.examples

4 raised to the power half = 2

8 raised to the power one third= 2.

so why do we need radicals. i mean why do we have the radical form when we already have the exponential form. my question was answered by soudhamini.

We don't really need radicals; this alterate notation is essentially a holdover from days before fractional exponents were developed. We find it easier  to use square roots rather than the 1/2 power.

It is only alternate ways of writing the same thing.

radicals and fractional exponents are only notations, they are asking the same Question.

The Square Root of Two can be Written Radical(2)≈1.414 or 2^.5 are just different Mathematical notations asking the same thing. Basiucally what number multiplied by itself equals the ( Number you are looking For).
