it would be best if you first simplify them

8/10 = (4x2)/(5x2) = 4/5

12/15 = (4x3)/(5x3) = 4/5

thus they are equivalent

start: (8/10) & (12/16)

8/10=4/5 or 0.8

12/16=4/4 or 0.75
