I did the following f (612) - f (1273)   = -661

                                      2006 - 2001           5

and I got -132.2 as average decrease of discharges per year of number of gay men and lesbians from the mlilitary.  is that correct    I was doing a rate of change type of problem.  reason why I ask if correct is because my scientific calculator acts funny.  doesn't always give me the right answers and then I switch to a very old one, and that one makes things different too.
