3t + 7 = - 8

You can subtract 7 from both sides of the equation:

3t + 7 - 7 = - 8 - 7

3t = - 15

So now, to find the value of 't' you can divide both sides of the equation by 3:

(3t)/3 = - 15/3

t = - 5
