3x -x +2=-4

2x=-4-2=-6

x=-3
by
3x+2-x=-4

we pass the 2 to the other side, so we subtract it on both sides.

3x+2(-2)-x=-4(-2)

so then we'll have....

3x-x=-6

now subtract the x's...

2x=-6

now divide both sides by 2 to have the value of x...

(2x=-6)÷2

which equals...

x= -3
