If the length is 8 feet, perimeter is 24 feet, what is the width and area?

Need to find the area if the lenght is 8 feet and perimeter is 24 feet.  The width and area are unknown.

the width is 4. if the perimeter for two sides are 8, thats 16, so there is 8 left, and two sides left, so the sides would both be 4. the area is legnth times width, so 8*4 equlas 32.
