The goal as always is to get x on one side of the equation. The first thing you need to do is distribute the 3

3(2x+4)

3 times 2x is 6x

3 times 4 is 12

6x+12

Then combine like terms

4x+6x+12=132

10x+12=132

next subtract 12 from both sides

10x=120

divide by 10

x = 12
