4(x)+11.23 = 7(x)-5   x=cost of cds

4x+11.23 = 7x - 5

-7x+4x+11.23 = -5

-3x = -11.23-5

-3x = -16.23

x= 5.41

Solve

4(x)+11.23 = 7(x)-5

4(5.41) + 11.23 = 7(5.41) -5

21.64+11.23=37.87-5

32.87=32.87
