Assuming the questions are independent there will be 3^8=6,561 ways of answering the questions. To see how this works consider just one question. There are 3 ways of answering it. Now consider 2 questions. For each of the 3 ways there are of answering one question there are 3 ways of answering the other, so that's 3*3=9. Take a third question. For each of the 3 ways of answering it there are 9 ways of answering the other two so that's 3*9=27. And so on up to 3^8.
