what is the function of a table that has a domain of 2 5 and 0 with a range of 2 11 and -4

From the domain, the x-values are [2, 5, 0]

From the range, the associated y-values are [2, 11, -4]

We therefore have three points, A(0, -4), B(2, 2) and C(5, 11).

The line AB:       slope is m = (2 – (-4)) / (2 – 0) = 6 / 2 = 3

The line BC:       slope is m = (11 – 2) / (5 – 2) = 9 / 3 = 3

Both AB and BC have the same slope. The lines AB and BC are connected. Therefore they are both part of the same straight line, of slope m = 3.

The equation of that line is: y = 3x - 4
